Professional Floral Design Classes
Discover the intricacies of professional floral design through our comprehensive workshop series. Explore various forms of flower arrangement and techniques in hands-on sessions designed to train aspiring professional florists. Whether you're aiming for a career in floral design or simply seeking to cultivate a deeper appreciation for flower art, our workshops are sure to inspire your passion.
The curriculum consists of seven 6 hour sessions, including 40 minutes of theory lectures and 2 hands-on projects which can be taken home to display. These classes are small and intimate, so as to ensure the students will have quality one on one time with the teacher for more detailed guidance. Students will receive an apron, as well as, the necessary design tools they need to complete their floral design projects. During each session, we will take photographs for the students of their progress and finished products to help document their experience.
The courses are taught by two prestigious floral design teachers, both of whom are long-time florists and are known for their creative contributions to the industry:
- Vivian Liu is the owner of Arbutus Florist and the founder of Hong Flowers, Furniture and Art. She has an extensive background working in design and a yearning passion for fashion, both of which heavily influences her work. Vivian is the recipient of several awards and has recently represented Canada by winning 3rd place in the AIFD's "Just Make It Pretty" contest.
- Brenna Quan is member of the renowned AIFD since 2009 and has participated in many floral design competitions. She is a mini-celebrity in the flower design world and is internationally recognized for her talents.
